For the Javanese, the keris is considered important due to its great benefits and is used by both nobles and common people. The contents of this book are drawn from the writings of F.L. Winter, published in 1871, was supplemented with information from several ancient books that told of gods, priests, and kings who were experts in keris and spears, as well as the masters who made them. Apart from that, it was also taken from Serat Centhini, written by KGPAA Mengkungara III (Ingkang Sinuhun Paku Buwana V in Surakarta). The content of the book is divided into five chapters. Each chapter discusses the names of the parts of the keris, the shape of the keris, the pamor of the keris, the iron from which the keris is made, and the advantages of different keris.
